The Department of Basic Sciences is a cornerstone of the Faculty of Engineering, providing essential foundational knowledge and research capabilities that underpin the engineering disciplines. The department offers a diverse range of courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, engineering drawing and applied sciences, tailored to meet the needs of engineering students. These courses are designed to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the scientific principles that are crucial for engineering innovation.
Department Vision:
1- Interdisciplinary Courses: The department has recently introduced interdisciplinary courses that bridge the gap between basic sciences and engineering applications. These courses are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle complex engineering challenges.
2- Advanced Laboratory Facilities: New state-of-the-art laboratory facilities have been established to support hands-on learning and experimentation in areas like; laser photonics, quantum physics, material testing, and chemical analysis.
